As 2024 comes to a close, we extend our gratitude for the tremendous support from all patients and partners. This year has been fulfilling as we worked to restore smiles and confidence to many. Here are some of the highlights of the year.
Learning and Celebrations
Our annual SDG Convention brought a valuable refresher on service excellence and teamwork, reminding us that every role matters. Just as a cog functions through the collaboration of its teeth, a team thrives when all members contribute their unique strengths.
It was a wonderful afternoon, and we’re excited for what’s to come at the next convention!
Nurses Day was a blast at SuperPark Singapore! Our team of clinicians and nurses engaged in thrilling team-building games, and after three hours of action-packed fun, the smiles and sweat were proof of everyone’s enthusiasm.
Cheers to another fantastic year-end dinner, this time with a fun sports party twist! It was a night of excellent company and exciting arcade game machines. A huge thank you to our incredible suppliers and clinicians for their generous support in making this event a highlight of every year.
2024 is a year of milestones for two cherished team members — Lee Lee (head nurse) and Helen (front desk). With 20 years of outstanding service devoted to Specialist Dental Group, it is a testament to their commitment and dedication to work. We can’t wait to celebrate even more milestones with our wonderful colleagues!
Talks and Events – Sharing of Expertise
Are you aware that oral health is a key measure of your general health? Our dental specialists regularly share their knowledge through talks and events whenever possible to raise public dental awareness for individuals to emphasise dental care. These are some of their engaging experiences over the past year.
Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr Ho Kok Sen and Prosthodontist Dr Steven Soo shared their answers to several insightful dental questions and valuable dental tips with viewers on CNA93.8 Health Matters with DJ Daniel Martin.
In March and October, Dr Daylene Leong, Dental Specialist in Periodontics, shared crucial insights on gum health and tips to maintain good oral and gum care at Mediacorp’s Let’s Talk About Health Fair with DJ Jiahui and Elvin Ng at Serangoon NEX and Northpoint City. We’re happy to see the participants walk away with enhanced gum care habits and awareness!
Knowledge is the seed of growth; the more you nurture it, the more it flourishes. In early November, Prosthodontists Dr Ansgar Cheng and Dr Tan Kian Meng were in Florida, USA, for the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics meeting (#AAMP2024).
They had the privilege of speaking at one of the sessions, sharing valuable insights about the maxillofacial prosthetics field in Singapore and Hong Kong. It was also a heartwarming experience to reconnect with their old friends and colleagues. A truly memorable and fulfilling experience!
Education awards
At Specialist Dental Group, we believe in fostering academic excellence through initiatives like the SDG Education Awards. This year, we proudly celebrate Charlene Wang, Clarissa Lim, Jayden Goh, and Villarosa Reianna Erese for their outstanding 2023 year-end exam results. Each received $80 for every Grade A or Rank 1 achieved. Well done, and we wish them continued academic success!
Always in motion
Beyond chasing goals, running lets you discover your resilience. This year, our fitness enthusiasts participated in marathons and competitions across the globe, achieving new personal bests along the way and taking on new challenges, such as a double-up marathon. Notable events included the Seoul Marathon, 2XU Compression Run, Hyrox 2024, BMW Berlin Marathon, Garmin Run Singapore, and Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon.
Giving back to community
As part of our yearly mission, we dedicate efforts to raise funds for a charity selected by the team. This time, we again extend our support to the Singapore Cancer Society (SCS). In line with our active involvement in caring for patients with cancer, it is our honour to be one of the bronze sponsors led by Dr Tan Kian Meng as a team leader for this meaningful cause.
Apart from fundraising, many of us joined over 7,500 participants, both physically and virtually, in a powerful show of support for the cancer community. Seeing such unity was an incredibly moving experience.
As we bid farewell to another impactful year, we extend our sincerest gratitude to our remarkable team and valued partners. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together.
Stepping into 2025, we heartily celebrate 60 years of Singapore’s independence. We are proud to call this nation home and wish everyone a joyful new year filled with bright moments for your family. Happy New Year!
