According to both western and chinese calendars, we are now officially in the “new year”. And we are glad to share that it has been a fruitful start of the year for us! We are happy to report that so far we have been productive in:
Babies
Babies are one of God’s greatest gifts to mankind and we would like to celebrate with two of our colleagues who are expecting! Both mothers are due to deliver in the later part of 2016 and we are eager to welcome these two babies to the SDG extended family. Although the journey may be peppered with various side effects common to pregnancy (nausea, vomiting and gas), hang in there because it would be worth it.

We would also like to welcome Dr Daylene Leong, Dental Specialist in Periodontics, who is back from her maternity leave last month. She is now a happy and proud mother of a two-year old son and newborn daughter.
Cross Country Championship
Dr Ansgar Cheng, Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics, participated in the 15th Wings Cross Country Championships 2016. Running together with 62 other runners in the Men’s open category, he completed 4.6km in 17:03.5 minutes, which comes up to be an average of 3.7 minutes every km!
Known to be determined, dedicated and disciplined (not just in his clinical work), you can be sure Dr Cheng would try to beat his personal record again at his next cross country competition.

Cycle Out Poverty
Dr Ho Kok Sen, Dental Specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, an avid cyclist for close to four years took part in a recent charity cycling event, Cycle Out Poverty 2016. Dr Ho was part of the 300 participants who cycled to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity Singapore’s StarBuilders programme. The programme seeks to enable at-risk and underprivileged youth to give back to society.
