Specialist Dental Group’s Dental Specialist in Prosthodontics, Dr Ansgar Cheng, would be giving a talk on 2 June 2015 at the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Here is a short interview that our colleague had with him to find out more about talk.
Q: What is the talk about?
A: I will be sharing my take on implant rehabilitation, to postgraduates who are studying Master of Dental Surgery in Prosthodontics at HKU.
Q: What can the doctors expect to learn?
A: The exciting evolution on implant treatments in the last five years. The rate of development for the implant treatments always amazes me, and I am sure it will be interesting for those listening too.
Q: Why are you giving a talk?
A: I have been an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor of Oral Rehabilitation at HKU’s Faculty of Dentistry since 2011 so I continue to teach and provide practical insights to the students. I am also a proud alumnus of HKU, which has been ranked No.2 in the scholastic ratings of dental schools around the world in 2015, according to the recent QS World University Rankings by Subject.
Q: What do you hope to achieve through this visit?
A: I am thrilled to meet with the current batch of students and catch up with my fellow alumni as it always reminds me of my days as a freshman in HKU. Being an Examiner for Graduate Prosthodontics at the Division of Graduate Dental Studies, I also hope to interact with the successful candidates, get to know the next batch of candidates. I find that I also learn a few new things from the younger colleagues.
Aside from work, I am very glad that I can visit my mother, who has just undergone a double knee replacement surgery, to ensure that she is recovering well. Being an avid runner myself, I hope to pick up some tips of caring for one’s knees from my mother’s doctor too.
